FAQ: How do we build divisions?

Our goal is to ensure a great tournament experience with well-matched competition for every team. Instead of letting teams choose their own division, we review team performance and rankings to place them where they’ll be best matched.

As a smaller tournament, we often combine age groups (usually two years). For U15–U19, divisions may include teams from across that full age range—similar to the mix many players see in high school.

We use the Soccer Rankings app as a guide. For teams not listed (including international teams), we look at past results and league level.

Guest players—especially those from higher-level teams—must be approved by the tournament director so team placement stays fair.

No system is perfect, but this process helps us create balanced brackets and a great experience for everyone. We appreciate the support from coaches and managers to ensure accurate assessments and team placements.
